Behavior

A black shadowy figure with two glowing red eyes that has a chance to spawn under a patient's bed, exuding black particles and breathing heavily while staring at whoever moves nearby. If a player, patient, or Hider steps into its red hitbox, it stretches out its arms and grabs them, slowly dragging them under the bed: -10 sanity on the initial grab and -5 sanity every 2 seconds while being pulled in. It will kill a grabbed patient within 30 seconds if not freed, and can also trigger the same grab event on patients as a scripted Event.

How to Respond

Equip Maple Syrup, an Organ, or a Transplant and walk into its red box — the monster grabs the item instead and disappears shortly after. Otherwise avoid the hitbox by walking around it, or lure a Hider into the box to remove both threats at once.

• If you don't have one of those items, just walk around the visible red hitbox to avoid triggering the grab entirely.
• The initial grab costs 10 sanity, plus another 5 sanity every 2 seconds while the victim is being dragged in — free them (or bait it with an item) quickly.
• You can also lure a Hider into the Bed Monster's hitbox to remove both threats in one move.
